Greatest little place, owned by the sweetest most authentic Japanese couple. Best sushi I have ever had, incredibly fresh, simply delighted to be handed hot steam towels to clean my hands and face before eating, loved the experience, great choices- can’t wait to go back. Don’t let the tiny facade fool you- you are walking into a delicious restaurant- not to be missed.
The best place for sushi on Long Island The staff are super friendly and serve up the best authentic Japanese food outside of Japan. It feels like you're home. They make everything in-house from the miso soup to the chipped ice that goes in your drinks. Everything has care, love and thought in it. Truly an experience to be enjoyed over and over again.
Stopped in hoping to get some ramen, but they don’t offer it on Mondays. Went with the udon noodle soup, a few apps, and a sushi roll. It was great and will be back to try the ramen. The service was amazing and very welcoming. Great find while on that side of Long Island
We had a lovely dining experience at Takumi. It was our first time there and the food was fresh, authentic and the service was extremely friendly. We loved the cozy atmosphere. At this time vaccinations are a must which we were more than fine with as we have immunocompromised family members.

My wife and I were looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant this evening and we stumbled across this amazing restaurant. Our experience and food was top notch and exceeded our expectation. The service was fantastic. The waitress so very sensitive to us and provided a second to none service. The food was the very best Japanese food we've ever had. The chef personally came to our table and served us. It was such a special touch to our experience. We were deeply moved by their hospitality. This will be a restaurant that we will continue to return to. The service, food, price was just right. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly authentic Japanese experience.
Amazing authentic Japanese food. Place is quiet, clean, and cozy. House and wife are chef and waitress and they are so friendly and welcoming. Soups were great and squid and meat platters were so light! You could eat here and have a healthy meal. My new favorite place in Long Island. Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance of the place.
It is not near any major shopping centers so it feels like it's off the beaten path. A restaurant owned by husband and wife. With the husband being a professional chef from Japan. Some items are even made in house like a banana caramel pudding that we had for dessert. It is very refreshing to see a husband and wife own and operate a restaurant like this. I had an absolutely amazing time and it even feels very authentic.
